Harvest Frost G2 System Features
Online Data.
Each system has its own configurable web page. Weather trends are visible at a glance as well as
complete weather history. All weather data is archived and can be downloaded from your site in
csv or plain text format at any time. During a frost event you will be able to see your data coming
in every minute. Under non-alarm conditions data is reported back every hour with 10 minute logs.
Alarms. The system sends up to four messages (text messages, voice messages or emails)
when the temperature drops to the alarm level set by the customer. Other alarms can also be configured:
a second temperature alarm, battery voltage alarms, high wind, high temperature etc.
Investors. The normal daily weather data is a great way for shareholders to see what is
happening attheir investment site.
Versatile.
The solar-powered unit can be placed anywhere on your site. It uses the Vodafone GSM/3G or Telecom XT (3G)
network in New Zealand and any GSM/3G nework in other countries. The system is also available in a satelilte
version. Installation is quick and easy with no technical expereience needed.
Pole mountable

New wireless temperature sensors
with low visual impact |
Wireless Temperature Sensors
No wires to install or get damaged! Standard wireless sensors have a range of up to 250 metres
(270 yards) while the latest generation high power sensors have a range of up to 2km (1.3 miles)
depending on terrain. No wiring means the sensors can be installed in a few minutes and placed
at the coldest and warmest locations so you can get a good idea of the temperature profile
during a frost event. Under frost conditions new temperature readings are reported every minute.
Growing Statistics.
The system calculates Growing Degree Days for your site during growing
months, and Richardson Chill Units during the winter months.
Calculated Weather Variables.
Calculated values such as Dew Point, Wet Bulb, Evapostranpiration and Wind Chill are now available.
Bacchus Botrytis risk calculations are also available for no extra charge with the addition of a
leaf wetness sensor.
Rain and Wind Sensors.
The standard combination for all G2 systems are the NIST approved Davis anemometer and 0.2mm (0.01 inch)
rain gauge. Updated rainfall totals are available at a glance. Wind data is always useful with both
average and gust calculations.
Humidity Sensor.
With the addition of a humidity sensor both dew point and wet bulb calculations can be done.
Soil Moisture Probes.
Decagon, Aquaflex and Sentek soil moisture probes can be added to the system. Every unit can handle
multiple probes. If needed the Decagon and Aquaflex soil moisture probes can be monitored by long range
remotes (LRR) instead of being hard wired.
Advanced Wind Machine Monitoring.
Many Vineyards and Orchards that have Harvest systems are now monitoring their wind machines. The G2
system can monitor engine rpm, oil pressure, fuel level, engine on/off and battery voltage. With the G2
System it is possible to monitor at least 8 systems with the use of long range remotes (LRR).
Other Sensors.
Any system can be equipped with a range of other sensors including solar radiation
(used for evapotranspiration), leaf wetness, barometric pressure, water depth sensors and water pressure
sensors.
We can also monitor a range of other sensors including flow meters, well depth sensors, and a range of
other analog and digital input sensors most of which can be monitored by hard wiring to the base system or
by the use of long range remotes (LRR).
Quick View.
A special Quick View page is available for on-the-spot management during the operation of wind machines,
sprinklers or even in the cockpit of a helicopter. This web page shows the latest temperatures and the
temperature trends.
WAP Cellphone Page.
For in-field use you can also view the live temperature data on any cellphone using WAP.
Optional Password.
Your web data can be password protected if that's what you need, or you can share the information with your
neighbours and in fact the whole world.
Large Sites.
With the G2 system and long range remotes (LRR) there are no problems reaching every corner, dip and high
point of your site. With a range of up to 2km (1.3 miles) the long range remotes give a maxiumum coverage
of up to 1,250 hectares (3,100 acres).
