Ham Radio
A number of us here at Harvest are ham radio nuts, and Harvest has
recently become an agent for a selection of high-quality ACOM radio products. We sell their
1000 and 2000A high-power
RF amplifiers, as well as the 2000SW/S digitally-controlled
coaxial antenna switch. Check out our ham price list
for pricing and shipping information.
"I believe that the 2000A is the best HF amplifier available in the world.
It is expensive, but you will never need to buy another amplifier. It is
beautifully made, runs whisper quiet and is extremely simple to use. It changes
bands automatically in less than a second. It matches any rig of any brand and
only requires RF input and a transmit line (doesn't even need ALC).
"The amplifiers are completely idiot proof. Forgot to connect the antenna or
connected the wrong one?—don't worry. Got a short in one of your coax
connectors?—no problem. Your antenna suddenly goes high SWR?—don't stress.
This baby takes care of all of these situations.
"I have a demo 2000A in my shack and won't be parting with it—ever!
If you are travelling in this part of the world and want to operate it yourself,
you would be very welcome."

Here's what an experienced user has to say about the 2000A:
"Over the past several years I have owned a number of different amplifiers,
both solid state and tube type, including the Alpha 87A. After using and
owning the ACOM 2000A I rate it heads above all others. I simply love this amp.
"The tuning is fast and smooth along with quick automatic band switching.
The ACOM is simply a plug and play amp. The unit runs quiet and cool. Although
not needed for my type of operation I added the optional cooling fan, and I find the
two fans in the ACOM to be much quieter than my computer fans.
"To sum up, the ACOM offers fast, simple and fully-automatic tuning, handles
SWRs up to 3 to 1, has remote diagnostic capability, RS232 control, first rate components
along with quality construction, remoting of amp with control head on the desk,
many protection circuits, plus numerous amplifier monitoring functions (forward and
reflected power, drive power, bias, DC input, VSWR, temp-F, temp-R, screen-V, plate-RF,
mains voltage, I-screen, I-plate, I-grid, IF-rear, IF-front, high voltage,
gain, fil-V, frequency and more ... and all digital.)
"If you can afford one, buy it."
